Kenjol Capital Management (KCM) is a registered investment advisory firm founded in 2001. How We Are Different
KCM approaches the market differently with an active management approach. With over fifteen years of investment expertise with active strategies, KCM subscribes to a type of technical analysis known as trend following which focuses on price movement instead of predictions or forecasts.
In our opinion, buy-and-hold is not the answer. Our investment philosophy includes the following ideas:
- Traditional asset allocation is largely ineffective.
During 2008, most assets were positively correlated. Unless you raised cash, diversification failed to prevent
measurable losses.
- Positive returns are possible even in difficult periods.
Consider the negative 10-year return for the S&P 500 from 2000-2009.
- Capital preservation is paramount in market downturns: By preserving capital, investors need much smaller returns to return to their high watermarks.
Consider the S&P needs to return 7-10% annually over the next 6-9 years to regain its October 2007 highs
(as of 6/30/2010; assumes 2.5% annualized dividend yield).
Instead of trying to predict a market direction, our strategies react to the market's movements whenever they occur. Trend followers respond to what has happened rather than anticipating what will happen, enabling our advisors to focus on the market without getting emotionally involved.

Our fixed income strategies typically utilize Fidelity’s Capital Markets fixed income resources in addition to mutual funds.
